Interflow is a water resources specialty consulting firm founded in February 2006 by John E. Loper, P.E. Since that time, our client base has grown to include: several city and county governments, four of Florida’s five Water Management Districts, international clients, and large engineering firms requiring specialized hydrologic modeling services.
JOHN E. LOPER, P.E.
Principal Hydrologist / Water Resources Engineer
Mr. Loper is a project manager, water resources engineer and hydrologist with over twenty years experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, groundwater and integrated modeling, stormwater management system design, watershed planning, and environmental resource permitting. He is an expert in solving complex water resources problems for governmental and private-sector clients; often guiding proposed solutions from initial concepts through to final designs and regulatory approvals. Mr. Loper’s experience includes the application of sophisticated hydrologic modeling software to dozens of watersheds throughout Florida. He has provided independent review of dozens of watershed modeling studies.
Mr. Loper has also served as an expert witness, having testified in three administrative hearings on water resource matters. He is an honors graduate of the University of Florida with a B.S.C.E. He also holds a Master of Engineering degree from the University of South Florida where he specialized in Water Resources Engineering.
Senior Civil Designer
Mr. Lardizabal is a Senior CAD Designer with over 22 yrs of AutoCAD experience and he is highly proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015 and AutoCAD Land Desktop in generating plans for commercial, residential and public works projects of various sizes. He has expertise in the following areas using the AutoCAD software package; 3D terrain modeling, 3D grading design, cut/fill analysis, floodplain volume analysis, roadway and utility plan and profile production, structural detailing of reinforced concrete, stormwater structures, wall sections, pipe layout and design for stormwater, sanitary sewer and potable water systems, and CAD standards implementation.
His experience includes working closely with surveyors in preparing specific purpose surveys, wetland surveys, residential ALTA/ACSM standard surveys, importing point data from data collector, creating 3D terrain models, and manual survey drawings from metes and bounds legal descriptions. Mr. Lardizabal is a FDEP Certified Stormwater Inspector who has an understanding of stormwater rainfall events using FDOT, SWFWMD and municipal storm design criteria, watersheds, basin delineations, preliminary calculations for stormwater retention systems, pre-post development discharge conditions, and storm pipe sizing. Construction field experience includes construction site visits and reports, water and sewer test calculations with monitoring and reports, preparing construction cost estimates, assisting in shop drawing review and approval, and developing construction bid documents.
Vineela Griddaluru, E.I., GISP, CFM
Water Resources Engineer / GIS Analyst
Ms. Griddaluru is a Project Engineer with over 10 years of water resources engineering experience. She holds a Masters degree in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Florida. In her past experience she has served as a project engineer on projects for clients such as SWFWMD and FDEP, and Central Florida Counties including Pasco, Polk, Hardee, Sarasota, Lake, and Manatee, as well as the City of Lakeland.
Her experience includes hydrologic and hydraulic modeling applications of ICPR, EPA SWMM, XP-SWMM, and MIKE SHE/MIKE-11 on numerous occasions to develop models for purposes including wetland and steam restoration, floodplain delineation, and stormwater management. She is highly proficient in using ArcGIS for developing hydrologic and hydraulic networks, floodplain mapping, and pollutant loading analysis.
Yamin Zhou, E.I.
Ms. Zhou is a Staff Engineer with Interflow supporting our water quantity and quality modeling efforts. She holds an M.S. in Environmental Engineering with a concentration in Water Quality at Georgia Tech, where she earned a 4.0 GPA. In her graduate studies, Ms. Zhou completed several water quality studies involving mass balance, pollutant transport and decay in groundwater, surface water, and wastewater.
Ms. Sorvillo has 9 years of experience supporting engineering staff. Having worked for consultants as well as a major utility company in the Northeast, she comes with extensive knowledge in the field, which has been a great asset in providing administrative and market research services for the Interflow team.
