City of Tampa Upper Peninsula Phase 2 Dale Mabry Feasibility
The City of Tampa Transportation and Stormwater Services Department contracted with Interflow to conduct a feasibility study and provide conceptual plans for the construction of approximately 8,000 linear feet of box culvert in the Upper Peninsula region of south Tampa. The purpose of the box culvert is to relieve chronic and severe flooding on Dale Mabry Highway in the vicinity of Henderson Boulevard, Watrous Avenue, and Neptune Street.
The project route lies within existing City of Tampa right-of-way, beginning at the intersection of Dale Mabry Highway and Watrous Avenue and extending west to Old Tampa Bay. This Feasibility Study identified and characterized potential obstacles to construction within the City of Tampa right-of-way, including items that could significantly impact construction costs, schedule, and nearby residents, such as,
- Utility conflicts
- Right-of-way constraints
- Tree impacts
- Maintenance of access to residences, businesses, schools, and other public facilities.
